Overflow Coffee Bar Fosters a Community Get-Together Environment

Located on State Street in Chicago, Illinois, Overflow Coffee Bar fashions itself as more than just a place to grab a cup of joe. It also serves as a community get-together space. But wait, don't all cafes? Overflow organizes specific programming in its space, that is, open mic nights, film screenings, artist meet and greets, and high school and/or community organization meetings.

The products available at the cafe, which include coffee obviously and more lunch-friendly light meals, are all fair and/or direct trade or organic. There's a bit of clothing on sale as well. Owner Amanda Neely opened the shop in mind in order to support non-profits.
