Hokuriku's Gold-Leafed Train Resembles a Moving Boutique Hotel

This opulent train design is set to travel through Hokuriku, the central northern coast of Honshu, Japan. In recent years, Japan has gained attention for a range of train concepts are both advanced and stylish and their latest is no exception to this innovative tradition.

With an interior that is decorated with traditional lacquer and gold leaf, this opulent train concept is inspired by the nation's rich history and tradition. Mimicking ornate kimono robes and Japan's gorgeous architecture, the train is set to run between Kanazawa and the Wakura Onsen hot spring resort in Ishikawa Prefecture.

The two-car vehicle is ultra-exclusive and seats only 52 passengers. In addition to gold from Kanazawa, Japan’s most famous producer of gold leaf handicrafts, the train will feature lacquerware from the town of Wajima.
