$30 Million Beijing Olympic Torch Lighters

Li Ning Cashes In

Li Ning is lining his pockets with $30 million, all because of his starring role in the 2008 Beijing Olympic opening ceremony.

Li Ning is the former Chinese gymnast who was lifted on cables at the ceremony, then hoisted in the air where he jogged around the top of the Bird's Nest to reach the Olympic caldron to light the torch.

Because he owns a Hong Kong stock market listed company, Li Ning Co. Ltd, shares were lifted five percent just on his appearance.

The company may need more cables to lift the stock to it's former price since it is down 35% for the year.
