Casa Salvaje is a Mountainous Tropical Paradise in Costa Rica

A brutalist-inspired, off-the-grid oasis sits nestled in the mountains of Palmichal de Acosta, Costa Rica. Designed by Mazpazz Arquitectura, this home is powered by solar energy and the local spring water. The architects designed the home with the surrounding landscape in mind. The home is framed by a mountainous landscape and has an overall muted aesthetic.

The materials used for the project were chosen with longevity in mind - the concrete, local stone, and wood singling were designed to withstand the local climate. The home has a strong cosmic energy that was created by encrusting crystals into the concrete floor. The architect reinterpreted local building traditions, asserted a cultural consciousness, and created a dwelling that resists today's elaborate designs.
