Ocean Plastic Cannabis Packaging

Sana Packaging & Oceanworks are Repurposing Reclaimed Materials

Sana Packaging and Oceanworks joined forces for a partnership to create a new line of cannabis packaging from an abundant material—ocean plastic.

With a focus on sustainability, Sana Packaging introduced its first product line in 100% plant-based and chemical-free hemp plastic. According to Sana Packaging CEO and co-founder Ron Basak-Smith, "while hemp bioplastics will remain our core focus, ocean plastic is a problem we have to address." Through this partnership, the new line of cannabis packaging will simultaneously make the most of non-virgin materials that are already in the waste stream, help to keep oceans clean and empower consumers who want to make conscious purchasing choices.

The new product line from Sana Packaging and Oceanworks is set to be available as of spring 2019.
