Oatly Introduces a Plant-Based Version of its Cream Cheese Spread

Oatly Group AB is launching a new cream cheese spread made with entirely dairy-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO ingredients. The product will come in a plain iteration and also a chive and onion version for fans of flavored dips. The spread will be sold in 8-oz containers and will feature Oatly's signature branding and graphics on the front.

"For decades, we’ve focused on the power of oats and the magic that happens when you unlock their potential," said Leah Hoxie, senior vice president of innovation for Oatly North America. "With this new cream cheese, our US R&D team spent over a year focused on bringing to market a truly great-tasting and performing plant-based option that mimics dairy cream cheese in all the best ways possible, minus the dairy."

The company hopes that this product will fill a gap in the market for sustainable, plant-based products that are formulated with oats.
