Don't Practice Your Martial Art with These Hammer Nunchucks

Sculpture and art educator Nimer Aleck created a set of fine art hammer nunchucks intended for fine art display or decoration only.

The nunchucks or nunchaku are a martial weapon consisting of two pieces of wood or metal connected via a small chain. Nunchucks were once very popular thanks to pop culture icon and martial artist Bruce Lee as well as popular kids TV show like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unlike traditional nunchucks though, Aleck has chosen to connect two hammers together as opposed to two separate pieces of wood or metal.

The art piece comes off as a commentary on the fusion of the two disciplines, carpentry and the martial arts, that perhaps they are not so different as both require skill and dedication in order to master their craft. Just don't practice with these at home.
