Recycled Floating Parks

This Project Recycles Plastic Trash to Prevent North Sea Pollution

In an effort to reduce North Sea pollution, a new project will use a plastic fisher to stop trash before it gets into the ocean and turn it into a floating park instead. Based out of the Netherlands, the team of architects behind this ambitious endeavor hope to capture the small bits of plastic that are hard to catch but will easily clog up the sea if left unstopped.

Off the edge of the harbor, the pollution-preventing plastic fisher will sit. The collecting device floats and has arm extensions to gather garbage using a net to reach trash meters away from it. The accumulated plastic will be recycled to create floating parks and re-introduce a surface for nature into an ecosystem already damaged by industrialization. Given the plastic would otherwise float away into the open, this project will hopefully help decrease North Sea pollution.
