The Neon Luminance Project Places Cyalume Into Waterfalls

The Neon Luminance project was started by Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard. The two placed Cyalume glow sticks into sprawling waterfalls, giving way to this electric display of art.

Lenz and Abildgaard took to Northern California for Neon Luminance. The natural setting responded well to the glowsticks as green, red, purple and blue colors streamed down the cascading waters.

A lengthy exposure time, ranging from 30 seconds to seven minutes, captured the glowsticks as they traveled throughout the water bed. This enabled them to trace the trajectory of the rainbow colors, all of which are present in the Neon Luminance series. Many of the images appear surreal, as if produced digitally for a cartoon film.
