MYP House by Estudio BaBO Explores the Possibilities of its Materials

The brick house has been built and rebuilt for god knows how long, but the MYP House by Estudio BaBO was an attempt to use the practical building block in a way that truly honors its properties.

There are many shapes and sizes of bricks, but those chosen for this particular dwelling within a country club in Buenos Aires were actually sourced locally. They take the standard contemporary Western form of squat rectangular prisms, and it is this very structure that is magnified to the scale of the residence itself.

To consider the massing of this Argentinian project is to understand it as a stack of bricks. The upper and lower floors, for instance, make up separate block-like constituents that allow the MYP House by Estudio BaBO to celebrate its parts to a whole.
