Wearable Mushroom Fashion

MycoTEX is a 100% Biodegradable Material Made from Mycelium

There is an incredible amount of waste generated by the fast fashion industry, but MycoTEX has the potential to provide a solution from an unlikely source—mycelium, or mushroom roots.

MycoTEX is a completely biodegradable material made from natural fiber that can simply be returned to the earth at the end of its useful life. At Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, the first runway-ready prototype was unveiled, offering a glimpse into a more earth-friendly future within the realm of fashion.

MycoTEX was recently recognized by the non-profit H&M Foundation's Global Change Award for its 'Funghi Fashion.' As such, MycoTEX has been granted €150K and the chance to participate in a global accelerator program with the H&M Foundation, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Fjord and Accenture.
