Insecticide-Releasing Posters

These Mosquito Posters Release Insecticide When Hit with Rainwater

Mosquito-borne diseases are a major health concern in numerous countries, so Habitat for Humanity created a unique mosquito poster that releases insecticide when it rains, effectively destroying larvae and limiting the population of these insects.

The poster was designed with the intention of killing the Aedes Aegypti mosquito -- a particularly deadly breed that carries Zika and Dengue. In addition to controlling the population, this poster also serves as a resource to the communities its placed in as it warns readers of the dangers of these insects and provides information regarding infection prevention.

Once its touched by rainwater, this poster will release an insecticide that's effective for 60 days. This particular insecticide doesn't pose a threat to the surrounding environment or ecosystem.
