The New York's MoMA Video Game Collection Gives Fans a Sneak Peek

New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) recently acquired a video game collection that takes iconic paintings and merges them with popular game characters.

The MoMA video game collection will be unveiled officially in March of 2013 but the museum has released a few pieces to give interested art and gaming enthusiasts a little taste of what the anticipated collection will contain. The original list of desired games consisted of 40 classic favorites and were chosen were based on "outstanding examples of interaction design." While focusing on the dynamic interaction aspect of the games, other criteria also included the "elegance of the code to the design of the player’s behavior." Fanatics should anticipate other nerdy homages to popular catridges such as Tetris, Mario Brothers, Pac-Man, Street Fighter, Katamari, Portal and many more.
