Time Has Created a Mixed Reality App Putting Users in the Amazon

Time has created a mixed reality app that immerses the user inside the Amazon rainforest. Time's mixed reality app is currently available on both iOS and Android devices and is titled "Inside the Amazon: The Dying Forest." The app also has an audio voiceover with Dr. Jane Goodall -- who speaks about issues surrounding deforestation -- which plays over a sound system that was built to fit the apps visual experience.

In order to do research for the AR app, Time had two of its producers as well as a reporter travel to the rainforest. The release of The Ding Forrest coincides with the release of a Time magazine issue that focuses on climate change. The new issue of the magazine will also have a section dedicated to the biodiversity of the rainforest, and the surrounding issues.
