Potosi's Little Guards is an eye-opening photo series, captured by photographer Jonas Wresch, that documents the life of a young family of Bolivian mine workers -- including three young children -- working in the mines of Potosi in Bolovia. The members of the family take on various jobs in the mines of the town of Potosi for meager wages, in conditions unfit for adults let alone children.
The children clean, cook, care for guard dogs and work in the mines to clear the path for carts. They risk injury, illness as well as abuse and molestation at the hands of drunk mine workers.
The photos depict the little mine workers of Potosi as being at once tender and hardened, their youthful innocence mixed with a sense of responsibility not associated with children.
