The Micro Phone Lens Lets You Zoom in Up to 60x

Amateur scientists who can't quite afford a portable microscope will want to check out the Micro Phone Lens. This awesome smartphone accessory was designed by Thomas Larson and allows you to zoom into an object up to 60 times. The lens is made from platinum catalyzed silicone technology. All you need to know is that it is optically identical to glass, sticks to your phone without the need for an adhesive and is washable and reusable.

The Micro Phone Lens has a base magnification of 15x and can be increased to a max of 60x via your smartphone's zoom function. For the best results, Larson recommends using the lens on a device with a camera of five megapixels or higher. The mission behind the project is to get more Americans interested in science by letting them check out the microscopic world around them. Larson was seeking $5,000 of funding on Kickstarter and has so far raised $42,488.
