Metrolinx and Lyft Launched a Ride-Sharing Initiative

Metrolinx and Lyft are launching a new rideshare pilot to transport commuters to and from certain GTA GO stations, including Exhibition, Oakville, Unionville and Bramalea. GO customers will save $4 on their next five Lyft rides to and from the stations.

To facilitate the process, the GO stations have been marked with specially branded signage so riders and drivers can easily find each other. This partnership will greatly assist with Metrolinx's lack of parking spaces to allow travelers to easily commute. "Lyft is passionate about transportation equity and reducing the need for single-occupancy personal vehicles," says Aaron Zifkin, Managing Director for Lyft Canada.

The partnership has been advertised online and in print with branded billboards and images. The pilot will run for six months beginning July 15, 2019.
