Creative Mentorship Programs

PitchIt! Created a Mentoring Scheme to Help Disadvantaged Youth

This mentoring scheme is designed to help young people in lower socio-economic settings launch their careers in creative industries. Based in London, PitchIt! also helps them get into cultural sectors and the tech world by cultivating a more connected community.

The social enterprise focuses on the improvement of management skills to help disadvantaged Londoners better their career prospects. Typically people with poorer backgrounds stand less of a chance getting into more creative professions, but this mentoring scheme is trying to change that. The program assigns a mentor to a person aged 16 to 24 interested in their industry.

The employers are generally looking to fill more management positions, but might not have the skill set with their current staff. PitchIt! currently works in the areas of advertising, design, fashion, film, journalism, music and photography.
