The Memory Wound is a powerful piece of modern art. The wound is a large cut in the middle of a Swedish countryside representing the loss of many Swedes.
The attraction is part of a project commemorating the loss of 77 people in the wake of terrorist attacks in 2011. The Memory Wound was made by Jonas Dahlberg and is 11 feet wide. Tourists are walked along a path that goes along the cut as part of a contemplative journey in remembrance of the tragedy.
The side is covered by a flat vertical stone smoothing out the cut. The stone will be covered in the names of the people killed so they will forever be remembered by the Memory Wound.Photo Credits: designboom, jonasdahlberg
