The people who are malnourished in Africa may have some help coming their way, albeit slowly. Snails are being suggested to provide a replacement for the more expensive and scarcer beef. Also offering more protein and, according to kids in a recent survey, a better taste, snails seem to be a seriously smart answer for an epic problem.
The impressive research comes from Ukpong Udofia of the University of Uyo. Her study of the indigenous African Giant Snail is takes a positive new step on the quest to help the malnourished in Africa.
