Light-Harnessing Tablet Cases

The Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio Charges Batteries Using the Sun

The Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio is a light-loving tablet cover that uses the power of the Sun and artificial light sources to charge the attached keyboard, which is contained in the hard-shelled case.

Using a series of photovoltaic panels, the case affords the tablet user the convenience of having a full keyboard to use when typing for extended periods of time, without having to rely on the typically short-lived battery life that accompanies most of these types of accessories.

The company claims that one full charge of the case’s NiMh batteries will give the user approximately two years worth of useability, based on an average of two hours per day spent on the device. Along with its battery-enhancing properties, the case also functions as a stand that can be adjusted to various heights dependent the function desired.
