Instrument-Shaped Boats

Livio De Marchi Has Revealed Its Boat Crafted in the Shape of a Violin

Italian sculptor Livio de Marchi has created a large-scale violin-shaped boat, called Noah's Violin.

The artist is known for his surreal wooden creations and has previously built large-scale boats in the form of shoes and cars. Noah's Violin has made its first voyage in Venice and was accompanied on board with a performance by cellist Tiziana Gasparotto.

The boat is roughly 12 meters long and four meters wide. It was crafted using six different qualities of wood and was built into four different sections - making assembly and transportation easier. The boat was carefully sculpted to resemble a real-life violin - from the chin rest to the four strings to the scroll, every detail is impeccable.
