Continuous Contemporary Shelving

Ligne de Fuite Establishes a Mural Topography

In most rooms, the floor is treated with cohesive arrangements of furnishings and decor, but what designer Jeremy Guenole suggests with his Ligne de Fuite is an element that ties all four walls together.

Inspiration for this project came from the natural landscape with the rolling hills formed from undulating earth. Reinvented to reflect an openly artificial and chic contemporary aesthetic, this notion of a meandering plane was simplified to produce a single unbroken ribbon.

Ligne de Fuite means "Line of Escape," and the band that breaks free from the flatness of the walls is finished with a smooth wood veneer texture. What creates the swelling behind this surface is a collection of bright orange mounted ledges and containers that are designed to hold just about anything.
