MARILYN is an Argentinian LGBTQ film that stuns audiences with bold storytelling and a very real struggle of identity. The drama is the first feature by award-winning writer and director Martin Rodríguez Redondo.
The plot of MARILYN is rooted in a crisis of family, of self and of body. The plot follows Marcos who lives on a ranch with his parents and his brother and who is always looking forward to the annual Carnival. Things become ever-more complicated as the protagonist's dad suddenly dies, Marcos is pressured to take over the ranch and as he comes into a non-consensual and forceful sexual encounter during the Carnival.
