Ananas Anam is a fashion brand producing wearable accessories such as shoes and bags out of recycled pineapple waste. The goods are designed using a product caled Pinatex that is a faux leather made from natural fruit waste rather than animals, leading the product to be good for the environment.
Pinatex is created by extracting pineapple waste and transforming it into a material that has a similar touch and feel that is soft and supple like leather. Because the material is made from already existing waste, it doesn't require any added use of land, water, fertilizers or pesticides. The material can be used to create shoes, totes and purses as a replacement for the animal equivalent. The fabric can also be dyed too to suit a variety of designs and colors.
