The Leaf Bed is Designed for Emergencies and Refugees

French designers NOCC have created a bed made entirely out of cardboard. The Leaf Bed is designed to be used by people in refugee camps who have been displaced by war and natural disasters. The Leaf Bed has a simple design consisting of four pre-cut panels and ships with all of the tools and parts needed for assembly. Sleeping on cardboard isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but the bed is said to somewhat contour to to the shape of the sleeper.

Although this bed could have the most use in times of disaster, I could also see it being put to use by eco-conscious folks in industrialized nations. After all, what's greener than riding a bike to work, eating organic food and sleeping on a bed made of cardboard?
