Celebrity Constellation Tributes

The Late David Bowie Was Honored with His Very Own Stardust

Among the many tributes and homages paid to the late David Bowie in recent days, the lightning bolt now dedicated to him in the sky is one of the most poignant. Belgian music station 'Studio Brussel' teamed up with the MIRA Public Observatory to create and name a heavenly constellation in his honor.

Made up of seven stars, this constellation is a fitting way to celebrate the life and influence of the iconic artist and his alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust. In the company of just 88 other constellations, this historical shape in the sky will give fans around the world something to look up at in commemoration of the late David Bowie.

Mimicking the iconic face paint featured on the Aladdin Sane album cover, the lightning bolt in the sky lives in the vicinity of Mars and is made up of Sigma Librae, Spica, Alpha Virginis, Zeta Centauri, SAA 204 132 and the Beta Sigma Octantis Trianguli Australis.
