Lana Del Rey's West Coast Video is a Tribute to the Golden State

Lana Del Rey's West Coast video reunites her with Bradley Soileau, the heavily tattooed heartthrob who starred in her popular 'Born to Die' and 'Blue Jeans' videos. Though Soileau has colored his hair blonde, his distinctive tattoos are a dead give-away to his identity.

As for the song, it's pure Lana: breathy, baby-doll vocals, lyrics that lament the process of falling in love and a general retro vibe. She sings "Down on the West Coast, they got their icons/Their silver starlets, their Queens of Saigon/But you've got the music/You've got the music in you, don't you?"

However, Lana went an unconventional route with the video, veto-ing her usual Super-8 effects in favor of a black-and-white video loop of her and Bradley spinning around the beach together. Hazy, hypnotizing and hopelessly romantic, the lead single from Ultraviolet is sure to become a summer favorite.
