Recycled Stacked Lighting

This New Line of Lamp Shades is Vintage and Whimsical

Instead of replacing the old with the new, crafty Design Academy Eindhoven graduates Sander Wassink and Ma'ayan Pesach created mystically beautiful lamp shades from old thrown-out glass.

The vintage looking lamp shades were made using discarded glass, which the designers then put together to create this stunning line of mosaic, and vividly colored pieces that give off a soothing and whimsical glow.

The design students initially created this line of lamps for a hotel, in which they stacked the unwanted trash to create a variety of different design configurations.

"People often tend to replace and renew their surroundings, and therefore there is an unbelievable amount and quality of objects left behind," says Pesach. "We both prefer to work with existing materials, or at least to make interesting combinations from old and new."
