Kroger Switches all Private-Label Products to Eco-Friendly Packages

Kroger makes a sustainable change in the recent 2020 ESG report by announcing that all of its private-label products will be packaged in environmentally friendly ways. The grocery store company plans to achieve 100% entirely recyclable, reusable, and compostable packaging by the year 2030.

All of the 'Our Brand' products will pivot to this overall goal and the baseline product packaging footprint will be conducted to do so. In addition to this initiative, Kroger is also planning to reduce the entire enterprisewide greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by the year 203 as well. This will also help eliminate tropical deforestation in the products and raw materials that it sources to the manufacturing facilities. Since the pandemic, this initiative became more urgent to provide a safe environment.
