Luminous Ceiling Kites

The Kite Light is Inspired by Ben Franklin's Electricity Experiments

The Kite Light is a playful ceiling lamp designed by outofstock for Miami Design Week 2011. The Kite Light was inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s electricity experiments. (You know, the ones with the kite and the key.)

The Kite Light is has simple styling and is made using futuristic LED-in-GLASS technology. The light is designed to provide both direct and indirect illumination making it functional in addition to eye-catching. The long power cable would normally be considered an eyesore, but seeing as how it completes the illusion of the kite I think it’s okay to let it slide. For now outofstock’s Kite Light appears to be a one-off creation, which is a shame as this design could really appeal to consumers thanks to its smooth and simple styling.
