Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has brought together urban landscapes and the look of a traditional Zen garden with this one of a kind landscape located in Milan.
When most people think of a traditional Japanese Zen garden, the first things that come to mind are well raked pebbles, lots of bamboo and open air. But Kengo Kuma, a world renowned architect known for his impressive designs, decided to take a modern approach to this age old gardening fixture.
This urban Zen Garden sees Kuma replacing pebbles with smooth, layered concrete that has been made specially to have a topographical appearance. The result is this beautiful and modern looking urban Zen garden that combines the essential elements of Zen's minimalist chic with urban landscaping.
