Overweight Toys

Fat Barbie, Superman and LEGO Figures Highlight Child Obesity

These ads for the Active Life Movement use iconic children’s toys to get their tagline out to parents to "Keep obesity away from your child." I do agree that the images used certainly catch your attention, and we can laugh at the overweight toys, but are they the real cause for children gaining weight? I don’t think so.

The Barbie ad will probably raise debates just like the Jessica Simpson weight stories on what is considered a "normal" weight. The ads were created by advertising agency Latinworks, Austin, USA with creative direction by Sergio Alcocer, Diego Castillo, Lewis Sempertegui, and Daslav Maslov. The copywriting is written by Diego Castillo and Lewis Sempertegui.
