Jabras Lopes Creates a Functional Bicycle Covered in Natural Fibers

Jarbas Lopes is a Brazilian designer who has created a unique piece of cycling art for the VIP Art Fair 2.0. Lopes has taken an ordinary bike and covered it from head-to-toe in natural woven fiber.

All parts of the bike are covered in the natural woven fiber save for the chain, tires and connective joints. The bike looks super soft and truly is a sight to see. Despite being covered in natural fiber, Lopes' art bike can still be ridden.

Jarbas Lopes' bike may be only an art piece, but hopefully it will get bicycle designers thinking about how to incorporate sustainable and Earth-friendly materials into their future creations. Bamboo bicycles and electric bikes are the tip of the iceberg.
