The Leo Burnett Invesco 'Accidental Investing' Campaign is Cautionary

Leo Burnett Chicago's 'Accidental Investing' campaign for Invesco explores what’s hiding in investments. The campaign encourages people to take an in-depth look at their financial portfolio to ensure they are getting the most for their investments.

The print advertisements show a hungry alligator, exposed nails, a booby trap, nuclear waste, a short fuse and a deep hole in flow charts and other investment depictions that draw parallels. All of these problems stem from an unsecure financial portfolio. The campaign encourages consumers to take a stand in their financial future by examining their investments.

Art directors Travis Lampe and Sarah Block do a great job with the campaign, creating mismatched components of each chart that almost blend in. This visual, paired with straightforward, yet clever copy by copywriting team Desmond Lavelle and Eric Routenberg make this print campaign one that is impactful, yet easy to understand.
