Cotton Incorporated’s 'Blue Jeans Go Green Program' calls on consumers to donate their old denim in order to help insulate new homes. Working with Habitat for Humanity, Cotton Incorporated is currently looking for about 10,000 denim pieces to insulate 10 new homes in the New Orleans area.
To collect the denim, the organization has placed bins at Madewell stores across the United States. Consumers can drop off their donations in these bins or mail them directly to the organization. The denim pieces are then collected and converted into 'UltraTouch Denim Insulation' by the manufacturing company 'Bonded Logic Inc.' The initiative ultimately breathes new life into old jeans by turning them into a useful form of insulation for new homes.
