This inflatable bike helmet makes an admirable attempt at being both highly fashionable and incredibly safe.
The inflatable bike helmet, known as Hövding by its Swedish creators, is essentially an airbag that you wear around your neck. When the built-in sensors detect an upcoming impact by sensing unusual movements that are common right before an accident, the helmet will inflate in 0.1 of a second, usually well before an otherwise devastating impact. The collar even comes equipped with a black box, like the kind you'd see on airplanes. The creators of the inflatable bike helmet even request that cyclists who have been involved in an accident while wearing the collar send in the device so that they can improve the device's stability and responsiveness. The helmet is charged via USB with a built-in rechargeable battery and can be thankfully turned off lest you end up with an inflated helmet during a fancy cocktail party.
