The IKEA 'Make Sushi' Video Captures Efficient Food Prep

The same store that offers a wealth of home and office organization solutions gives its kitchen utensils a moment under the spotlight in the IKEA 'Make Sushi' video. The short film is one of several clips in the IKEA 'Art of Cooking' series by Carl Kleiner.

The amusing piece features an orderly countertop complete with seven IKEA bowls of various sizes, a glass, a knife and a couple of IKEA wooden cutting boards. Different Japanese maki ingredients are scrupulously separated into different containers, and efficient hands from off screen grab, chop, spread and roll them to create a delicious dish. The finished product is laid out in perfectly patterned precision.

The director of photography was assisted by art director Samuel Akesson and Eric Severin with animation. Styled by Evelina Bratell, the IKEA 'Make Sushi' video turns the countertop into a culinary canvas.
