The art installation titled Hypergraphia by Gwyneth Leech has given used paper cups a second lease on life. This time around, they serve a more artistic purpose rather than a solely practical one. Comprised of hundreds of strung up paper cups, the installation looks like it is rise with oversized confetti. That is because each cup features different illustrations, which really work to create a vibrantly bold aesthetic.
Currently being exhibited at the Flatiron Prow Art Space in New York until the end of this year, Hypergraphia by Gwyneth Leech is viewable 24 hours a day since it occupies a room full of floor-to-ceiling windows. This installation is specifically made up of coffee cups that Leech herself has drank from. After washing them, she marks the date, location, and type of drink consumed on the bottom and then creates a unique doodle on each.
