Royal College of Art alums Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves of Studio Swine have teamed up to create a collection of human hair glasses. The glasses are made entirely out of human hair and natural resin and are designed to show the potential of designing with hair.
According to the two, the U.K. imports 15 million pounds of hair a year. Taking even a fraction of this hair and creating other items with it, such as glasses, could go a long way in reducing Britain's carbon footprint. The glasses themselves don't look too bad, but it could be tough selling them as I don't know many people eager to put the hair of a stranger on their face. The world may not be ready for human hair glasses just yet, which is unfortunate, as the idea behind this project is actually quite brilliant.
