Geometric Subway Ceilings

Hoshakuji Station in Japan Uses Plywood for Eye-Pleasing Details

Most of the subway stations that I have seen are pretty dingy looking, but the Hoshakuji Station in Japan provides eye-pleasing aesthetics for all its visitors.

Hoshakuji Station has a geometric ceiling made entirely from plywood that makes it look like the Mercedes Benz of subway stations. Built in an abandoned rice house, the designers of the Hoshakuji Station wanted to create a warm, comforting feeling through the diamond-patterned wooden design.

Implications - As far as I'm concerned I'd say mission accomplished to the designers of the Hoshakuji Station. Those visiting Japan in the near future should check out these eye-pleasing details for themselves -- especially if you have a love of architecture!
