With the release of the latest Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy, YouTuber Koalipops created this fun Groot cupcake tutorial for fans of the film. The video teaches foodies how to decorate these mini cakes to look just like the tree alien from the sci-fi film.
These cupcakes begin with recreating Groot from shortbread cookie dough. Koalipop recommends printing off a paper cut-out of Groot off of the Internet and then tracing the image onto the cookie dough using an x-acto knife. Then bake your favorite flavor of cupcakes and cover the tops with pipped green icing to replicate the look of grass. Stick the Groot sugar cookies into the cupcake and add a pair of black eyes and brown bark detailing using icing.
