Eco Activist Gifting

The Green Bag Lady Gives Away 6,179 Free Fabric Shopping Bags

Teresa Van Hatten-Granath (aka The Greenbag Lady) is an anti-plastic bag eco activist so dedicated to her cause that she distributed 6,179 free handmade fabric shopping bags worldwide.

With the aim of starting a fabric bag revolution, one bag at a time, Theresa and her team of sewers make the bags from recycled, donated or unwanted fabric, then gift them to people who promise to use them instead of paper or plastic bags.

The name, city, country and bag number of each recipient is recorded on her website, along with photos and stories documenting the use of these bags worldwide.

Her free fabric bags are now being used 130 cities in 48 countries/territories. Awesome job Teresa!
