Experiential Grain Dinners

Woodlot's Good in Every Grain Crop Up Featured the Wholesome Ingredient

The Good in Every Grain Crop Up was an immersive event hosted inside Toronto restaurant Woodlot -- known for its "honest, simple and handmade" fare. The festivities combined a fine dining menu with a sommelier-led whisky tasting and a live music performance by Gareth Bush.

Aiming to educate attendees about the versatility, nutritious value and great taste of whole grains, the Good in Every Grain Crop Up event featured a chef-curated menu of recipes for both meat lovers and vegetarians. From its beet-infused salad starter and its lamb shank main course to its decadent dessert, grains were featured as a star ingredient in every dish. Each course was conceived by Woodlot's Head Chef Mike Stilson "using the finest grown grains in Ontario."

Guest speakers also shared fun grain facts with attendees -- ranging from the ingredient's importance within a healthy and balanced diet along with its common uses as the base for artisan dishes and craft beverages like the whiskeys sampled by guests at Woodlot's tasting station.
