Animalistic Wooden Slat Sculptures

Gabor Miklos Szoke Creates Wild Large-Scale Installations

There is something truly majestic about the work of Gabor Miklos Szoke, despite being made out of wooden slats. The Hungarian artist fashions large-scale sculptures that take on the form of animals. A stunning tribute to noble creatures such as horses, tigers, bulls and more, Gabor Miklos Szoke shows how even pixelated versions of them are absolutely arresting.

Based in Budapest, Gabor Miklos Szoke only graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Hungary in 2010, but he is already making quite the name for himself. His latest sculpture The Rocking Horse, which was created in collaboration with András Huszár, is an interactive installation that can accommodate up to 70 riders. It is part of the World Harmony Run in Vienna.
