Isometric Typography

Fortune Magazine's Annual Fortune 500 Issue Will Feature This Brilliant Type

London, U.K. designer Charles Williams has designed a unique Fortune 500 typography for the business magazine's renowned annual issue.

Using software and physical modelling, Williams created two distinct styles of Fortune 500 typography for the magazine. The digitally created Fortune 500 typography features the number 500 overlaid by a ribbon that peaks and dips like the spikes on a graph. The effect is a brilliant visual representation of the magazine's focus on economics and the 500 list's ranking of wealth. The second part of the Fortune 500 typography is the isometric numbering that will announce each ranking from 1 to 500. This was modeled by hand and features bold black lettering, again with the graph line running throughout.

Creating an original Fortune 500 typography is a bold move on the magazine's part. Having a distinct typeface design as a facet of its overall aesthetic demonstrates Fortune's acuity for branding.
