The Home Chef Food Rescue Program Redirects Surplus and Waste

The Home Chef food rescue program is being launched by the Kroger-owned meal solutions brand as a way to help combat against avoidable food waste in its supply chain. The program works by redirecting surplus food and reducing the amount of waste created during the manufacturing and production processes. The program will be up and running at the brand's four nationwide facilities, and is being supported with partnerships with 4MyCiTy in Baltimore, Reflections of Trinity in Atlanta, Community Action Partnership in San Bernardino and Rescuing Leftover Cuisine in Chicago.

Program Manager of Sustainability and Impact Cody Ferrantino spoke on the Home Chef food rescue program saying, "To maintain and build our sustainable business practices, working with local organizations is essential.
