Professor Lee Yun Wen designed the Flood Float Torch specifically to reduce preventable accidents in regions that have experienced inundation. Adapted from the traffic cone, this contraption is intended to be placed adjacent to pits and piles of debris so that anyone wading through the water will know where it's safe to do so and where it's not.
The conical orange pylon sports reflective strips and a weighted base to keep it resting on the ground beneath and to prevent it from being carried away with a current. On top, the Flood Float Torch has a bright red LED light to make its presence best known and it's capped with a metal ring to protect it. The apparatus switches on when water rushes into it, initiating the lengthening of its scale rod and the illumination of its lightbulb.
