Lush Grass Rafts

The Floating Forest is Made of Two Botanical Water Vessels

The Floating Forest combines the refreshing softness of grass with the calming movement of water. It is essentially comprised of two botanical water vessels that meld the best of both these worlds.

Creatively designed by Pablo Milara, Friedrich Vitzthum and Alex Haw, the two rafts that make up the Floating Forest are the Root Lounge and Bowered Glade. The Root Lounge features a sculptural landscape on top of two canoes, while the Bowered Glade is a furnished isle run by an electric motor located in its hull.

Commissioned by Kindest Group’s Thomas Lindner as a future mode of leisurely travel, the Floating Forest was specifically created to promote the local tourism industry during the 2012 Olympics. It was unveiled at the Hackney Wicked Festival and will travel along East London’s waterways.
