Photographer Jeffrey Milstein has created a thought-provoking photo series simply entitled Flight Recorder.
The photos feature a flight-recorder piece that is battered and visibly been through a lot. The brightness of the red is dulled by the scrapes from a crash. The box is seemingly demolished on the outside; however, the inside seems to be perfectly held together. The documentation of this device can be considered to be representative of tragedy, as the box itself is from a disaster.
The purpose of a flight recorder is to provide information which can be used further to prevent airplane tragedies. Milstein's photo series creates a calm fear within the viewer, as the piece itself is seemingly tragic. The Flight Recorder Series is thought-provoking and a must-see.
